Dame Hoodless Awarded Alec Dickson Servant Leader Award

Dame Elisabeth Hoodless, Chairman of the IANYS Global Council and member of the Innovations in Civic Participation Board of Directors, was awarded the Alec Dickson Servant Leader Award at the 20th Annual National Service-Learning Conference which was held on March 18-21 in Nashville, Tennessee. The award recognizes individuals who lead by example, and through their initiative, inspire and help others to grow and become more capable of service.

Hoodless' work as the Executive Director of Community Service Volunteers, the leading volunteer and training agency in the United Kingdom, has had tremendous impact on the lives of many youth, making it possible for them to make a difference in their own communities in areas such as literacy and environmental conservation.

Alec Dickson, the benefactor of the Servant Leader Award, founded Community Service Volunteers, as well as Voluntary Service Overseas, and inspired similar leadership around the world. Hoodless' dedication to her work and her commitment to youth service sets an inspiring example for others to become more engaged in service.
