The data in this database
was gathered though ICP research, partners, and
the
ongoing policy scans and regional mapping
projects. To date, policy scans have been
completed in Latin
America and the Caribbean
as well as Eastern
Europe and the Balkans. Program
mapping has also been completed in East Asia
and the Pacific and is currently underway in
South Asia. Additional program information was
collected through the Innovation Award of
2007.
We have done our
best to ensure the
accuracy of all data
included in this database; however, it may not
be as accurate or as current as we would hope.

Policy
Scans
Under the leadership of
Research Director Edward Metz, PhD,
ICP conducted policy scans of
Eastern Europe and the Balkans, as well as
Latin America and the Caribbean,
from 2004-2005. Seventeen countries in
Latin America
and the Caribbean and fifteen
countries in Eastern
Europe and the Balkans submitted
feedback
concerning the presence, absence or movement
towards creating national youth
service policies in their countries. This data
is now available in a searchable
format using the search engine on this
page.
The Global
Youth Service Policy Scans have also resulted
in
two papers. The Latin
America and Caribbean paper is
available for download here.
It was also published in Service
Enquiry Volume II (Spanish). To

analytical paper from the Eastern Europe and
the Balkans policy scan, please click
